EKO INTERACTIVE

Research and Development Initiative

Working as a consultant to the award-winning digital studio React Media, Dane oversaw a multi-million dollar Research and Development Initiative for the interactive video platform Eko. His team oversaw the development and production of fifteen interactive specials designed to push the platform's code to its limits while expanding what is possible in choice-driven content. Projects ranged from scripted, to unscripted, to animation. Many were the first interactive series of their kind.

Free Skate

Not wanting to come off as an interactive "Hello, fellow kids!" meme, we knew we had to create a curated experience that resonated as authentic with the skate culture while also being accessible to those of us who might not be as comfortable on a half-pipe or A-frame.

To walk that line, we crafted a hidden game that utilized value-based decision making code to record viewer choices in the background and lead them to a custom end based on their choices, allowing the skating to be the focal point, not ham-fisted gamification.

Free Skate is just the first step in exploring the whitespace that is interactive sports content.

Covert Agent

Eliminate Mainframe, a sentient supercomputer that has become addicted to crime…or die trying!  This innovation of interactive narrative structure uses value based decision making to accumulate a custom ending based on viewer choices.

Talk Amuck

Today on Talk Amuck pick a new catchphrase for Kyle and get him to taunt NFL Pro Bowler Kerry Rhodes.  This interactive multi-camera talk show is the first of its kind, and damn funny no matter what path you take.

What Happens Next?

Let’s watch Reefer Madness! Ahamed is going to pause it sometimes. You guess what happens next you’ll get some points. Don’t overthink it. This immersive interactive experience was written and directed by the mad genius Josh Cohen.
